Pizza! Pizza! is Back in Holt

Little Caesars Reopens on Cedar Street

It’s pizza night! Little Caesars is back in Holt, almost three years after the previous location on Cedar and Aurelius shuttered its doors. The new location, just a short jog north on Cedar Street, opened on January 9, greeted by a wintry snow and rain mix. But Little Caesars Franchisee Derek Turowski didn’t seem to mind. He was outside in the cold on opening day, greeting the Holt community with a shaker board and a smile.

“People were honking their horns, and everyone seemed to be very excited,” Turowski said. “So that was a good day.”

The building that housed the previous Little Caesars needed extensive repairs to continue business and has since been demolished. Turowski spent two years scouting out the next location, navigating a competitive commercial real estate market, evaluating the potential of properties that needed major renovations, and trying to find a centrally located building that was zoned for a drive-thru to match the convenience of the previous restaurant.

While Turowski was disappointed to not be able to offer a drive-thru at this new location, he shared that he’s grateful to have found a property in a prime location.

“We just wanted to get a store back in Holt,” Turowski said. “We’re very happy there, and we plan to be there for the next 25 years.”

Little Caesars brings consistency, affordability, and convenience. For working families looking to enjoy pizza night on a budget, Little Caesars offers affordable menu items and dinner combos.

“Inflation is killing grocery stores, gas prices, and everything else, and we’ve somehow maintained a very low price,” Turowski shared. “We have only raised the price of our $5 pizza by two bucks over 25 years. You’re not going to find a better pizza for the price.”

While competitors may offer limited-time coupons and promotions to draw new customers in, Little Caesars keeps a steady, consistent price on its pizzas and sides.

“Our base price is about half of what everyone else’s is,” Turowski said. “So you can still feed a family for 12 bucks. I don’t know anywhere else you could do that.”

Turowski shared that this new location on Cedar Street has a dedicated team serving the community, led by supervisor Bridget Bailes.

“Bridget is one of our best managers,” he said. “She’s been with us since 2018.”

Even though Little Caesars is a large franchise, with thousands of locations across the country, giving back to local communities is a big part of the company’s culture. Most of Turowski’s local Little Caesars locations give out free Crazy Bread coupons to local schools to hand out to students. They also deliver pizzas to several Greater Lansing school districts for school lunches, maintaining their affordable prices while making adjustments to comply with the USDA’s nutrition standards for school meals. They are proud to help districts save money and support students and schools. Last year, they delivered 500,000 slices to students in our area.

Little Caesars also sponsors local community events such as Easter egg hunts and provides sponsorships to local high school football teams. Spartan fans may appreciate that Turowski’s franchise locations personally sponsor Michigan State Athletics.

“We try to do everything we can to be a part of the community,” Turowski said.

Little Caesars is open seven days a week from 10:30 AM–11 PM. They are located at 2452 Cedar Street in Holt and offer pickup and delivery. They can be reached at 517.209.0643.
